The Surrey Food Bank continues to provide essential and much needed support to our community. We are proud of the help that our volunteers and staff provide to over 15,000 low income residents every month. Our neighbors need us more than ever and we are touched every day by our clients and the struggles they face, stories that touch our hearts.

 

Our clients’ responses are honest and real as to why they need the Surrey Food Bank:

 

“I am a single mom with two month old twins. I have tried so hard to make the dollars stretch and pay for everything but my Employment Insurance just isn’t enough. Now I am scared I won’t be able to give my babies the nutrition they need as they grow. Thank goodness for Surrey Food Bank’s Tiny Bundles program!”

 

“I lost my job after a car accident and it will be at least four months before I can return to work. I know it’s only temporary but I just don’t know how I’m going to live or feed myself.”

 

“My husband and I both have chronic health problems and rarely leave our home except to go to the doctor. The Surrey Food Bank ‘Hamper to Your Home’ Program brings a hamper of food right to our door. The caring volunteers even carry the boxes to our kitchen table. We are so grateful for this special help – it’s like Christmas Day every time they visit.”
